Important Information About How COVID-19 Will Affect Your Dental Treatment
We hope you and your family are keeping safe and well.
Our community has been through a challenging period of late and all of us are looking forward to returning to some form of normality.
We would like to thank you for your patience and continued support during this period of enforced practice closure.
We would like to reassure you that that WE ALWAYS PUT YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OUR STAFF FIRST.
Infection control and prevention is at the heart of what we do, we have and are following the latest guidance and protocols from all the relevant bodies, including PHE and CQC.
Due to the emergence of Covid 19 CCD has implemented additional protocols to help patients and staff alike. The aim of these measures is aimed at preventing the risk of Covid 19 transmission.
Due to the new measures we adopt we are opening with extended hours and appointments will be managed in line with social distancing.as well as allowing time for additional infection prevention and decontamination.
THIS MAY MEAN YOU ARE OFFERED FEWER OPTIONS FOR RESCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Initially we will be scheduling
1 Patients with emergencies +/- urgent need
2. Patients with incomplete treatment prior to lockdown.
3. Patients with cancelled appointments during lockdown.
BEFORE ATTENDING THE PRACTICE
PLEASE TELEPHONE US TO DISCUSS YOUR NEEDS. WE WILL OPERATE A LOCKED DOOR POLICY AND ONLY PATIENTS WITH PREARRANGED APPOINTMENT WILL BE ADMITTED.
We will carry out a pre-attendance assessment prior to your appointment to assess your coronavirus infection risk.
If necessary Dr Shad will also perform a telephone consultation to assess and treatment plan any dental problem.
This will help us to provide you with the appropriate appointment to restore and maintain your dental health.
Medical history and consent forms will be emailed or are available on our website for you to complete and return to us where needed.
We will postpone treatment for any patient who has experienced any coronavirus symptoms or had any contact with such person within the preceding 14 days.
CCD will operate contactless/card payment only and request that payment is made in advance of the scheduled appointment, or immediately upon arrival at the practice, this will reduce unnecessary contact risk at reception.

Any further appointments will be arranged by telephone at a later time enabling you to exit the practice swiftly.
For all treatment that involves AGP(aerosol generating procedures) our clinical team will be wearing full PPE in line with current guidance and evidence.
We have no intention of being impersonal and distant but to minimise the risk of cross infection we will not shake hands or engage in polite conversation.
Please rest assured WE ARE THE SAME FRIENDLY TEAM UNDERNEATH.
To reduce the risk of aerosol contamination, you will be directed to rinse with a hypochlorus solution for 1 minute prior to treatment, a rubber dam will be placed over the teeth and the usual high volume aspiration (Suction) used, our air purifiers will add further to the aerosol management.
In consideration of the new protocols and enhanced PPE required to manage any transmission risk, and under a great deal of deliberation, WE HAVE DECIDED TO ABSORB THE MAJORITY OF THE INCREASED EXPENSE, however we will have to introduce a modest charge for all procedures requiring the additional PPE, at least until the enhanced requirements are still in place, and the pandemic has passed.
We have reviewed our dental care management procedures in light of the new guidelines and protocols in order to continue to provide you with outstanding and safe dental care.
Thank you for making it to the end of this information letter
